Instal the new StartIsBack++ 3.6.1012/20/2023 There were no adware, toolbars or malicious software included with the distribution. The installation proceeded without any issues. Hot keys can be configured to quickly bring up the Start Screen, Start Menu or the advanced features options. The level of translucency can also be tweaked. The Start Menu button can be skinned to customize its appearance. It can be converted to an App screen which can remove a lot of the clutter than automatically gets added to the Start Screen and turn it back into a useful program launcher again. The existing Start Screen doesn't need to be removed. This application actually separates the Start Menu from the Start Screen rather than replacing the Start Screen entirely. Additionally, the file transfer dialog in Windows 11 has also been updated to support dark mode now, bringing that much more consistency to the experience.StartIsBack combines the Start Screen of Windows 8.x with the benefits of a traditional Start Menu that previously came with Windows 7 and earlier operating systems and is making a welcome return in the upcoming Windows 10. This is all on top of other parts of Windows 11 that were already available in dark mode thanks to StartAllBack, including the Run dialog and other Windows dialogs such as error and warning messages. These are all things that Microsoft didn't update yet, so it's great to see a third-party tool step up to fix those issues. StartAllBack is a Start menu replacement that debuted last September as a new version of StartIsBack. StartIsBack++ Start menu blends well with Windows 10’s UI, thanks to the use of modern-style icons on the right of the Start. It's built from the ground up for Windows 11, and in addition to replacing the Start menu, it can revert changes to File Explorer and more. The ability to use 32×32 icons is one of the highlights of StartIsBack++. The program also allows you to use a large Start button, a very welcome feature as the default Start button is tiny. It also restores some classic applets in the Control Panel, including old-style personalization options, and some options that have been moved to the Settings app in Windows Insider builds. Perhaps most importantly, it has better performance than the default Start menu implementation since it uses fewer resources.
